A superb Swiss 18th century chatelain chain with a double sided dog & cherub enamel scene.

Circa 1790; The chains of the chatelaine are made of high carat gold with a combination of enamelled links alternating with intricate filigree rectangle links and natural pearls.

The main dog clip is large and has a twist lock, so is completely secure when fastened.

The chains extends to a beautifully enamelled double sided plaque with a pearl border.

The enamel has a lone dog on one side, and a cherub with his dog on the other.

The guilloche enamel scenes are surrounded by a high carat gold scroll design with tiny light blue forget me not flowers.

From the plaque hangs two keys, a fantastic agate fob with scorpion intaglio and a further twist close dog clip which could be used to add additional charms.

The chatelaine looks epic worn on a choker style chain.

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

The measurement will be in cm and inches.
We recommend you place a tape around your neck to see where the chain will sit.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
