This is a fantastic piece of history from ‘The Great War’.

A fascinating trench art ring made of aluminium in the form of a Fede of clasped hands.

The ring would have been crafted by a WW1 serviceman whilst in the trenches.

They used any material they could find. Aluminium from artillery shells was commonly used as well a copper scraps.

The ring is engraved inside the shank with the word ‘Annequin 8/8/15’

It is possible the ring was made in the trenches of Annequin in France.

British battalions that landed in France in March 1915 moved through Annequin around this time.

The Fede hands can symbolise faith or marriage.

This ring may have been a symbol of hope for the soldier who made it, or as a souvenir to send home to a loved one.

This is a completely unique and poignant ring.

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

Necklaces

All The Old Cut chains and necklaces have the total length detailed in the description.
The measurement will be in cm and inches.
We recommend you place a tape around your neck to see where the chain will sit.
Below is a basic guide to show some popular lengths – note, everyone’s neck is different, so this is just a basic guide.
