Georgian period 

A beautifully ornate, heavily chased Georgian fob made of 15ct gold.

The fob is set with a carnelian intaglio carved to tell a love story entitled ‘HUSH’;

The allegory depicts Love(Cupid) quietly creeping up on you! He carries a torch and lantern to light the darkness.

Such a beautiful sentiment.

The gold work is heavily chased to create a bed of large leaves above a layer of foliage flowers. 

The condition is generally excellent, there is a small hole in the gold from wear, however this does not take away from the beauty of the piece, and is hard to see with the naked eye - see the final picture

The size is perfect to hang from a fine to medium chain!

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
