A super long Victorian Horn fancy belcher chain, circa 1880.

The sections of chunky belcher links are interspersed with long bar links, that really show the natural grain and beautiful hues of the horn material

The chain has a suspended black metal dogclip, which is perfect for adding pendants to the chain for different looks.

As the chain is so long, it can be worn twice or three times around the neck for different looks.

The natural texture and warm dark tones of Horn made it a popular choice during the Victorian period.

It was used for chains, brooches and pendants, along with Jet, Bog Oak and Vulcanite.

I love the nearly black smooth finish of the horn links. It looks super modern, yet is over 100 years old.

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
