A delightful pair of Victorian Whitby Jet earrings in the shape of Fuchsia drops.

The Jet has been carved beautifully to mimic the pendulous lantern petals, with an inverted pyramid of jet dangling below to represent the stamens.

Fitted with the original 9ct gold plated shepherds hooks.

The striking black of the Jet and the beautiful organ shape of the Fuchsias, make a fantastic impact when worn.

 

Whitby jet is mined in Whitby Yorkshire. England 

It is formed from fossilised wood of the Monkey Puzzle trees that grew over 150 million years ago.

Whitby Jet is prized for its intense black colour, and lustrous shine that is achieved by polishing it. Whitby Jet also light which makes it perfect for the use in jewellery

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

The measurement will be in cm and inches.
We recommend you place a tape around your neck to see where the chain will sit.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
