A superb pair of woven hair hoop earrings with 18ct gold fittings.

Circa 1840/60, the hair has been intricately woven to create chunky hoops that look so cool when worn.

The gold fittings are gorgeous 18ct gold filigree work, that catch the light beautifully when worn.

Wires are original high carat.

Hair jewellery was used to create mourning pieces to commemorate the death of a loved one.

Although hairwork existed prior to the Victorian era, it was this period that saw it flourish.

It was used to keep a loved ones memory close

Bracelets & Bangles:

How your bracelet fits is a personal preference.
To check your preferred size, wrap a tape measure loosely around your wrist to the tightness you would like your bracelet to fit.
From the end of the tape measure to the point where it crosses the tape is your desired bracelet length.
Please compare this to the measurements specified on each of our bracelet product pages.
Note, some bracelets are adjustable – this will be mentioned in the description.
Note, if a bangle does not have an opening, you must select one that will pass over your fist.

JEWELLERY CARE

Antique Jewellery should be taken care of during wear.

Cleaning and repairs should be carried out by an antique jewellery specialist.

We recommend removing pieces of jewellery before washing hands or showering, as water can damage the antique settings.

Some pieces are not recommended for everyday wear

The Old Cut guarantees the piece up until the new customer receives the item.

Any stones that are lost or damaged during wear are not covered by The Old Cut. These will be charged for replacement, we can of course help find a suitable jeweller to support repairs.
